Send me a ▒ and my muse has to kiss yours.
Enough beating around the bush. Enough awkward little moments,
filled with that silence between people that know there’s something
there but just can’t bring themselves to act on it. She’d been honest,
back when she’d said that she was finding some new passions. Of
course, she’d shrugged it off with a joke and a punch to the chest.
But she’s realized that isn’t what she wants.
No awkwardly running around this, playing
it cool, acting like him saving her means
any less than it actually does.
So she decides to act.
Like any smart person would.
”Hey, Del, c’mere a sec—”
She gives him approximately one second to respond before she’s
stepping up. One hand finds the side of his face, the opposite arm
coming around his shoulders to drag him a little further down to
her height. Her fingers curl into the strands of his hair that poke out
from beneath that dumb hat of his as she brings his lips to meet
her own.
And there’s no denying the smile on her face.
